National Council of Negro Women 

(NCNW) was founded in 1935 by Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, an influential educator and activist, and for more than fifty years, the iconic Dr. Dorothy Height was president of NCNW.

On Saturday June 7, 2025, the NCNW North Shore Section was chartered by 41 dynamic leaders from the North Shore communities bordering Chicago, Illinois.

The North Shore section is dedicated to uplifting communities through outreach and advocacy that make  significant impact.
